Meredith Johnson
Member of the Month - September 2015
Meredith got September Member of the Month because she was the only Vice President of Membership; she put a lot of her spare time to our chapter of the AMA so we could grow and be the biggest and best organization we could be! She set up numerous tabling events in our ECU College of Business building, Bate, and worked hard implementing the new point system into our organization.
She joined the AMA because she is a Business Marketing Major and thought it would be a great organization to be involved with. She started a general member and eventually got selected for the Vice President of Membership position after interviewing last spring! She wants potential members to know that "being a general member is great and you get a lot of great networking opportunities, but being a Vice President is even better because you get to learn how to be a leader and obtain those leadership skills needed in the real world." Thank you for all your hard work Meredith! |
AJ Stallings
Member of the Month - October 2015
AJ has been with our chapter of the American Marketing Association for over two years and has put numerous hours of work into making the organization the best it can be. He has been our go-to Graphic Designer for our yearly Chapter Plans and Annual Reports that we send to the National Chapter for the International Collegiate Conference Competitions. In addition to this he has also recreated our chapter logo, improved our social media brand image, and designed multiple posts and flyers to promote our chapters events and fundraising projects.
After being a general member for a year, AJ transitioned into the Vice President of Promotions position during his second year with the organization. This year he became our official Executive Mentor; he assists the other AMA officers in their duties and helping members grow within the organization. Thank you for all your hard work AJ! |
Candace Carter
Member of the Month - November 2015
Candace started in our AMA chapter as a general member at the beginning of the fall 2015 semester with no idea on the impact that it would make in her life. She decided to become very active in our organization by joining the fundraising committee as well as the social media and promotions committee. So far, she has attended all meetings for both of the committees that she is on, every general AMA meeting except for one, and all of the Marketing Week speaker nights. Also, she has signed up to represent the AMA at various tabling events and has learned the importance of marketing our events through AMA social media to increase awareness before the event takes place.
In the social media and promotions committee, she posts multiple times on the social media outlets and uses the hashtags that the team created as a group. She also checks the AMA promotions bulletin board in Bate every other day to make sure it is neat and has membership forms available at all times. As for the fundraising committee, she helps brainstorm and implement fundraising ideas. Recently, she was selected to be the Fundraising Assistant for AMA with the intent to become Co-VP of Fundraising in the Spring. She says that with this opportunity, the AMA has given her the chance to learn how to be a better leader and learn more valuable skills that she can carry with her throughout her life. She can easily say that joining AMA has been one of the best decisions that she has ever made. Thank you for all your hard work Candace! |
